We've been around for close to a decade. We're now based in Redwood, on Main North Road, with plenty of parking at the front and back of the shop. We specialise in alterations and repairs and can help you with most of your sewing needs.

Owner

Hi, I'm Jo! I brought Urban Threads in 2026 after a long career working in education. I've loved sewing since a kid, making outfits for my barbie dolls! I studied sewing for a couple of years, but a lot of my learning has come from hands-on, trial and error...

Some of the areas I specialise in are upcycling and repairs. I love helping customers extend the life of their favourite garments.
